Benchmark NSE Nifty index fell 55.8 points to 17220.5 amid selling in frontline bluechip stocks.
However, stocks such as Restaurant Brands Asia Ltd., Nuvoco Vistas Corporation Ltd., SVP Global, Adv Enzyme Tech and Fiberweb India, touched their fresh 52-week low.
Overall, 14 shares traded in the green in Nifty50 index, while 36 traded in the red.
In the Nifty 50 index, Shree Cements, Maruti Suzuki, ICICI Bank, Power Grid and IndusInd Bank were among top gainers, while Coal India Ltd, ONGC, Titan Company, UPL and Hindalco traded in the red.
The BSE Sensex was trading 141.83 points down at 57691.14 at 11:20AM(IST).
Traders were seen piling up positions in Telecommunications, Banks, Auto, InvIT and Cement sectors, while selling was visible in Industrial Consumables, Electric/Electronics, Miscellaneous, Mining and Glass sectors.
