Actress Kavya Thapar arrested for drunk driving and abusing cop

'Tatkal' and 'Market Raja MBBS' actress Kavya Thapar was arrested by Mumbai police for drunk driving and abusing a cop. As per the tweet of ANI, the Juhu police official stated, "Actress Kavya Thapar was arrested and sent to judicial custody, on charges of engaging in a scuffle & using abusive language with the police, after she hit a car & injured a person under the influence of alcohol, yesterday morning."

The incident took place near J W Marriott Hotel in Juhu around 1 am on Thursday, when Thapar was driving her SUV under the influence of alcohol, she has been remanded to judicial custody, an official asserted. He further added that Thapar lost control of her car she and rammed into the rear of a stationary vehicle. A passerby also noticed the occurrence and informed the police control room. 

A team from the Juhu police rushed to the scene. The official even said that after police arrived, the actor started abusing and tried to manhandle them. Thapar was arrested and sent to remand for judicial custody. The police have registered the case against her under IPC section 353,504,332,427, and have started the investigation. A further probe is underway.
