Stock market update: Nifty Auto index falls 0.06% in a weak market

NEW DELHI: The Nifty Auto index traded negative around 11:00AM(IST)on Friday in a weak market.

TVS Motor Company(up 0.81 per cent), Maruti Suzuki(up 0.44 per cent), Mahindra & Mahindra(up 0.09 per cent), Eicher Motors(up 0.05 per cent) and Ashok Leyland(up 0.04 per cent) were among the top gainers.

Hero MotoCorp(down 1.12 per cent), TIINDIA(down 0.54 per cent), Amara Raja Batteries(down 0.49 per cent), Tata Motors(down 0.42 per cent) and Bosch(down 0.38 per cent) were the top losers on the index.

The Nifty Auto index was down 0.06 per cent at 11486.0 at the time of writing this report.

Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was down 18.2 points at 17286.4, while the BSE Sensex was down 51.75 points at 57840.26.

Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 21 were trading in the green, while 28 were in the red.

Shares of Vodafone Idea, Adani Power, YES Bank, Suzlon Energy and JP Power were among the most traded shares on the NSE.

Shares of Everest Ind, Times Guaranty, Speciality Rest, Keynote Financial and Sree Rayalaseema hit their fresh 52-week highs in today's trade, while SS Infrastructure, Motherson Sumi, CarTrade Tech, Garware Poly and Ujjivan Financial hit fresh 52-week lows in trade.
