MPhasis(up 0.26 per cent), Coforge(up 0.13 per cent) and L&T Technology(up 0.07 per cent) were among the top gainers.
Infosys(down 1.0 per cent), Tech Mahindra(down 0.87 per cent), Wipro(down 0.65 per cent), Mindtree(down 0.52 per cent) and HCL Technologies(down 0.52 per cent) were the top losers on the index.
The Nifty IT index was down 0.43 per cent at 34483.45 at the time of writing this report.
Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was down 23.05 points at 17281.55, while the BSE Sensex was down 70.85 points at 57821.16.
Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 19 were trading in the green, while 31 were in the red.
Shares of Vodafone Idea, Adani Power, YES Bank, Suzlon Energy and JP Power were among the most traded shares on the NSE.
Shares of Times Guaranty, Speciality Rest, Everest Ind, IVP Ltd and Monarch Networth hit their fresh 52-week highs in today's trade, while SS Infrastructure, Motherson Sumi, CarTrade Tech, Ujjivan Financial and Cadila Healthcare hit fresh 52-week lows in trade.
