
NEW DELHI: The Nifty Pharma index closed on a negative note on Thursday.
Shares of Alkem Laboratories(up 0.47 per cent) and Natco Pharma(up 0.14 per cent) ended the day as top gainers in the pack.
On the other hand, Alembic Pharmaceuticals(down 2.89 per cent), Aurobindo Pharma(down 2.24 per cent), Glenmark Pharmaceuticals(down 2.23 per cent), Ipca Laboratories(down 1.69 per cent) and Biocon(down 1.53 per cent) finished as the top losers of the day.
The Nifty Pharma index closed 0.75 per cent down at 13324.4.
Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index ended down 17.6 points at 17304.6, while the BSE Sensex stood down 104.67 points at 57892.01.
Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 21 ended in the green, while 29 closed in the red.
Shares of Vodafone Idea, Adani Power, YES Bank, JP Power and BHEL were among the most traded shares on the NSE.
Shares of Univastu India, IVP Ltd, GeeCee Ventures, Times Guaranty and Precision Metaliks Ltd. hit their fresh 52-week highs in today's trade, while Crown Lifters, G R Infraprojects Ltd., Bliss GVS Pharma, RM Drip and Sprinkle and Dev Information Tech hit their fresh 52-week lows.
