ADANIGREEN(up 6.00%), Orient Green Power Company(up 4.94%), Suzlon Energy(up 4.93%), Adani Transmissions(up 4.57%), Adani Power(up 4.14%), Hitachi Energy India(up 2.84%), JSW Energy(up 2.01%), Jyoti Structures(up 1.59%), Alstom T&D India(up 1.41%) and Torrent Power(up 0.79%) stood among the top gainers.
Indowind Energy(down 4.87%), Energy Development Company(down 4.87%), Reliance Power(down 4.39%), GE Power India Limited(down 2.77%), Jaiprakash Power Ventures(down 2.35%), NLC India(down 2.12%), K.P.I. Global Infras(down 1.93%), RTNPOWER(down 1.65%), Tata Power Company(down 1.56%) and Inox wind(down 1.55%) were among the top losers of the day.
The NSE Nifty50 index ended 17.6 points down at 17304.6, while the 30-share BSE Sensex closed down 104.67 points at 57892.01.
TATA CONSUMER PRODUCTS(up 2.76%), HDFC(up 2.03%), Oil & Natural Gas Corporation(up 1.9%), Reliance Industries(up 1.27%), HDFC LIFE INSURANCE(up 1.07%), Hindustan Unilever(up 0.92%), Hindalco Industries(up 0.61%), Eicher Motors(up 0.6%), Larsen & Toubro(up 0.43%) and Asian Paints(up 0.4%) stood among the top gainers in the Nifty pack.
On the other hand, UltraTech Cement(down 1.85%), Axis Bank(down 1.79%), ICICI Bank(down 1.79%), IndusInd Bank(down 1.3%), UPL Ltd(down 1.19%), Adani Ports & Special Economic Zone(down 0.88%), Shree Cement(down 0.77%), Tata Consultancy(down 0.76%), State Bank of India(down 0.73%) and Sun Pharmaceutical Industries(down 0.73%) closed in the red.
