
NEW DELHI: The Nifty IT index closed on a negative note on Wednesday.
Shares of Tech Mahindra(up 0.3 per cent) and Wipro(up 0.1 per cent) ended the day as top gainers in the pack.
On the other hand, Mindtree(down 1.91 per cent), Larsen & Toubro Infotech(down 1.63 per cent), L&T Technology(down 1.51 per cent), Coforge(down 0.94 per cent) and Infosys(down 0.28 per cent) finished as the top losers of the day.
The Nifty IT index closed 0.32 per cent down at 34801.95.
Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index ended down 30.25 points at 17322.2, while the BSE Sensex stood down 145.37 points at 57996.68.
Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 21 ended in the green, while 29 closed in the red.
Shares of Vodafone Idea, Adani Power, JP Power, YES Bank and Reliance Power were among the most traded shares on the NSE.
Shares of Fiberweb India, Megastar Foods, Keynote Financial, Mirza Intnl and Vedant Fashions Ltd. hit their fresh 52-week highs in today's trade, while Crown Lifters, Dynamic Services & Security Ltd., Innovative Tyres & T, Muthoot Capital and Essel Propack hit their fresh 52-week lows.
