Stock market update: Sugar stocks up as market rises

NEW DELHI: Sugar stocks were trading higher on Tuesday at 11:25AM

Ugar Sugar Works(up 3.06%), Triveni Engineering & Industries(up 2.66%), Rana Sugars(up 2.17%), Uttam Sugar Mills(up 2.09%), KCP Sugar & Industries(up 1.85%), Shree Renuka Sugars(up 1.83%), Balrampur Chini Mills(up 1.41%), MAGADHSUGAR(up 1.12%), Dhampur Sugar Mills(up 0.71%) and Mawana Sugars(up 0.62%) were among the top gainers.

Dharani Sugars & Chemicals(down 4.92%), Sakthi Sugars(down 4.08%), BAJAJHIND(down 3.07%), Dalmia Bharat Sugar & Industries(down 2.73%), Simbhaoli Sugars(down 2.39%), EID Parry(down 2.27%), Rajshree Sugars & Chemicals(down 1.89%), Bannari Amman Sugars(down 1.50%) and Vishwaraj Sugar Industries(down 0.90%) were among the top losers.

The NSE Nifty50 index was trading 128.0 points up at 16970.8, while the 30-share BSE Sensex was up 456.55 points at 56862.39 at around 11:25AM.

Hero MotoCorp(up 3.61%), Eicher Motors(up 3.04%), Shree Cement(up 2.44%), Hindustan Unilever(up 2.18%), Infosys(up 2.09%), Bajaj Finance(up 2.0%), Bajaj Auto(up 1.97%), Wipro(up 1.93%), Tech Mahindra(up 1.65%) and Larsen & Toubro(up 1.63%) were among the top gainers in the Nifty pack.

On the other hand, Cipla(down 3.06%), Tata Steel(down 2.11%), Power Grid Corporation of India(down 1.26%), Indian Oil Corporation(down 1.03%), Oil & Natural Gas Corporation(down 1.02%), Bharat Petroleum Corporation(down 0.82%), ICICI Bank(down 0.76%), IndusInd Bank(down 0.62%), JSW Steel(down 0.61%) and NTPC(down 0.19%) were trading in the red.
