WhatsApp, the Meta-owned instant messaging application, is reportedly working on an update that will allow users to set a cover picture on their WhatsApp profile. Just like Facebook.

According to the report in WABetaInfo, when the feature gets enabled for beta testers, there will be some changes in the Business profile settings.

The feature was recently potted by WhatsApp update tracker WABetaInfo.

In the screenshot shared by the WABetaInfo, WhatsApp seems to be working on a feature which will introduce a camera button in user's Business Settings. By clicking on this, users can select a photo or take a new one to use as a cover photo for their profile.

Where will it show up on WhatsApp?
If any user from your contact list on WhatsApp looks up your profile by typing your name or number, they will be able to see a picture behind your profile photo thumbnail and WhatsApp status.

As of now, the feature to set cover photos is currently being worked on for WhatsApp Business Accounts for iOS. However, WhatsApp will also introduce the same feature on WhatsApp Business for Android.

Meanwhile, WhatsApp is also working towards releasing the 'Community' feature in a future update, which will give more control to group admins on the platform.

'Community', like a group chat, is a private place where group admins will have more control over some groups on WhatsApp.
