
NEW DELHI: Several stocks rallied as much as 15% in Mumbai trading on Monday even as equity benchmarks, BSE Sensex and NSE Nifty, traded in the red amid brisk selling in frontline bluechip counters.
Stocks that surged in excess of 15% included, Excel Ind(20.0%), Unique Organics(20.0%), Tai Industries(19.95%), Shri Keshav Cem(19.93%), Paramount Cosm(19.2%), Shreyas Ship(18.42%) and SNL Bearings(15.55%).
The 30-share BSE Sensex ended 1747.08 points down at 56405.84, while the 50-share index, NSE closed 531.95 points down at 16842.8.
In the Nifty50 index, 1 stocks closed in the green, while 49 stocks ended in the red.
Meanwhile, stocks such as Tai Industries, Shri Keshav Cem, Paramount Cosm, SNL Bearings and Vistar Amar hit their fresh 52-week high, while Mahindra Logistics, Ramco Systems, Vivo Bio Tech, Capacit'e Infraprojects Ltd. and AGS Transact Technologies Ltd. touched their new 52-week low in today's trade.
