Nita Ambani, owner of Mumbai Indians (MI), made a grand entry to take part in the ongoing Indian Premier League 2022 Mega Auction in Bengaluru on Saturday.

Dressed in pastel blue pantsuit with white border and Mumbai Indians logo, the philanthropist-businesswoman walked in style to form her MI team. She completed her look with a tote-style bag and a white mask.

Ambani's eldest son and Isha Ambani's twin, Akash Ambani, was also present at the ongoing IPL Mega Auction.

MI's official Twitter handle shared a picture of Ambani Jr with former cricketer and MI's Director of Cricket Operations Zaheer Khan, former Sri Lankan player and head coach Mahela Jayawardena and Devang Bhimjyani, Head of Reliance Sports and Lifestyle.

Mumbai Indians and Chennai Super Kings had engaged in a bidding war for South Africa keeper-batter Quinton de Kock, but later Lucknow Super Giants bought him for Rs 6.75 crore. The cricketer was earlier a part of the Mumbai team.

MI also tried to acquire New Zealand pacer Trent Boul, but Rajasthan Royals won the bid for Rs 8 crore.

Mumbai was also interested in buying Australian cricketer David Warner, but Delhi got him for Rs 6.25 crore.

Soon after, memes and jokes started doing the rounds.

From not being able to get the desirable players to entering with her bag full of cash, the Meme Lords were busy at work.

The netizens lauded the MI team and Mrs Ambani for following Covid protocols and wearing a mask.

When someone joked that the Ambanis are trying to save money this time, users went on to defend her.
