The Indian Premier League 2022 Mega Auction is finally here as 10 teams bid for 600 players in the biggest auctions ever in the history of the cash-rich league. The bidding war would begin from 11 am on February 12 as the 10 sides would go to fill the 217 slots left so far.

IPL 2022 Mega Auction- Wicket-Keepers rule the roost
Ishan Kishan is a happy man as he was bid for Rs 15.25 Crores by his previous employer Mumbai Indians as they battled out Gujarat Titans, Punjab Kings and Sunrisers Hyderabad to get the services of the young wicket-keeper batter from Ranchi, Jharkhand. Ishan Kishan went past Shreyas Iyer's price of Rs 12.25 Cr which he got from KKR earlier in the day.
Apart from Kishan, another wicket-keeper batter Nicolas Pooran was also on-demand as he was sold for 10.75 Crores once again SRH lost a battle and this time to KKR. As for other big buys, Wanindu Hasaranga, whose auction was stopped in the middle due to the unfortunate incident of Auctioneer Hugh Edmeades collapsing on stage, was sold at 10.75 Crore as well and RCB bought him.

Earlier, in the day, the first lot of Marquee Players was done Shreyas Iyer become the costliest player in the auction going for Rs 12.25 cr to KKR. Shikhar Dhawan was the first player sold in the IPL Auction 2022 for Rs 8.25 cr to Punjab Kings.
