Stock market update: Nifty Pharma index falls 0.58% in a weak market

NEW DELHI: The Nifty Pharma index traded negative around 12:40PM(IST)on Friday in a weak market.

Gland Pharma(up 3.85 per cent), Laurus(up 3.62 per cent), Aurobindo Pharma(up 0.38 per cent), Abbott India(up 0.36 per cent) and Divis Laboratories(up 0.3 per cent) were among the top gainers.

Cadila Healthcare(down 2.29 per cent), Glenmark Pharmaceuticals(down 1.69 per cent), Sun Pharmaceutical Industries(down 1.61 per cent), Cipla(down 1.6 per cent) and Granules India(down 1.58 per cent) were the top losers on the index.

The Nifty Pharma index was down 0.58 per cent at 13534.6 at the time of writing this report.

Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was down 216.05 points at 17389.8, while the BSE Sensex was down 722.77 points at 58203.26.

Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 7 were trading in the green, while 43 were in the red.

Shares of Vodafone Idea, Adani Power, Adani Wilmar Ltd., YES Bank and Zomato Ltd. were among the most traded shares on the NSE.

Shares of NDTV, Ganges Securities, Speciality Rest, Orient Refractories and Vaishali Pharma hit their fresh 52-week highs in today's trade, while Solara Active Pharma, Neuland Labs, Nuvoco Vistas Corporation Ltd., GE Power India and Orchid Pharma hit fresh 52-week lows in trade.
