Getty ImagesNEW DELHI: Several stocks rallied as much as 15% in Mumbai trading on Friday even as equity benchmarks, BSE Sensex and NSE Nifty, traded in the red amid brisk selling in frontline bluechip counters.
Stocks that surged in excess of 15% included, Tai Industries(20.0%), IVP Ltd(19.99%), Vistar Amar (19.95%), Schneider(19.78%), Weizmann Ltd(19.69%), Yash Chemex Ltd.(18.78%), A Infrastructure(18.47%), Hind Const Co(16.28%), Paramount Cosm(15.97%) and Shri Keshav Cem(15.33%).
The 30-share BSE Sensex ended 773.11 points down at 58152.92, while the 50-share index, NSE closed 231.1 points down at 17374.75.
In the Nifty50 index, 6 stocks closed in the green, while 44 stocks ended in the red.
Meanwhile, stocks such as Tai Industries, Weizmann Ltd, Yash Chemex Ltd., Hind Const Co and Paramount Cosm hit their fresh 52-week high, while Solara Active Pharma, Neuland Labs, Ascensive Educare Ltd., GE Power India and Coral Labs touched their new 52-week low in today's trade.
