Stock market update: FMCG stocks down as market falls

NEW DELHI: FMCG stocks were trading lower on Friday at 12:30PM

Varun Beverages(up 3.83%), JHS Svendgaard Laboratories(up 0.94%), Nakoda Group(up 0.50%), Mrs Bectors Food Specialities(up 0.38%) and Dangee Dums(up 0.15%) were among the top gainers.

Zydus Wellness(down 4.23%), Vadilal Industries(down 3.45%), Godrej Consumer Products(down 3.29%), Nestle India(down 2.69%), Britannia Industries(down 2.56%), Heritage Foods(down 2.46%), TATA CONSUMER PRODUCTS(down 1.66%), Marico(down 1.65%), Parag Milk(down 1.57%) and Bajaj Consumer(down 1.31%) were among the top losers.

The NSE Nifty50 index was trading 244.5 points down at 17361.35, while the 30-share BSE Sensex was down 823.95 points at 58102.08 at around 12:30PM.

Indian Oil Corporation(up 1.79%), Tata Steel(up 1.09%), Bharat Petroleum Corporation(up 0.53%), IndusInd Bank(up 0.38%), NTPC(up 0.22%), Divis Laboratories(up 0.18%) and Hero MotoCorp(up 0.13%) were among the top gainers in the Nifty pack.

On the other hand, Grasim Industries(down 3.12%), Infosys(down 2.87%), Nestle India(down 2.63%), Britannia Industries(down 2.58%), Tech Mahindra(down 2.55%), Larsen & Toubro(down 2.18%), HCL Technologies(down 2.1%), Titan Company Ltd(down 2.0%), UltraTech Cement(down 2.0%) and HDFC(down 1.97%) were trading in the red.
