AgenciesNEW DELHI: Shares of Adani Wilmar Ltd., Consolidated Fin, Hindustan Comp, Mahalaxmi Rub and Birla Cable, hit their fresh 52-week highs at 10:29AM(IST)on NSE.
Benchmark NSE Nifty index rose 73.95 points to 17537.75 amid buying in frontline bluechip stocks.
However, stocks such as Solara Active Pharma, GE Power India, SS Infrastructure, SMS Pharma and Essel Propack, touched their fresh 52-week low.
Overall, 28 shares traded in the green in Nifty50 index, while 22 traded in the red.
In the Nifty 50 index, ONGC, Power Grid, HDFC, Infosys and Tata Steel were among top gainers, while BPCL, Maruti Suzuki, Bharti Airtel, Asian Paints and Coal India Ltd traded in the red.
The BSE Sensex was trading 249.27 points up at 58715.24 at 10:29AM(IST).
Traders were seen piling up positions in IT - Hardware, Telecommunications, Industrial Equipment, Fertilisers and Media & Entertainment sectors, while selling was visible in Industrial Consumables, Building Materials, Services, Infrastructure and Pharmaceuticals sectors.
