Stock market update: Sugar stocks down as market rises

NEW DELHI: Sugar stocks were trading lower on Thursday at 11:10AM

K.M.Sugar Mills(up 7.18%), Shree Renuka Sugars(up 4.07%), Vishwaraj Sugar Industries(up 3.12%), DCM Shriram Industries(up 2.74%), Simbhaoli Sugars(up 2.53%), Rana Sugars(up 1.97%), Ponni Sugars(Erode)(up 0.92%), Dalmia Bharat Sugar & Industries(up 0.75%) and Bannari Amman Sugars(up 0.12%) were among the top gainers.

Ugar Sugar Works(down 3.66%), Triveni Engineering & Industries(down 1.98%), BAJAJHIND(down 1.77%), Uttam Sugar Mills(down 1.37%), Kothari Sugars & Chemicals(down 0.87%), AVADHSUGAR(down 0.87%), Dwarikesh Sugar Industries(down 0.84%), KCP Sugar & Industries(down 0.82%), EID Parry(down 0.75%) and Dharani Sugars & Chemicals(down 0.73%) were among the top losers.

The NSE Nifty50 index was trading 126.25 points up at 17590.05, while the 30-share BSE Sensex was up 426.91 points at 58892.88 at around 11:10AM.

Oil & Natural Gas Corporation(up 2.93%), Kotak Mahindra Bank(up 2.53%), HDFC(up 2.35%), HDFC Bank(up 2.08%), Tata Steel(up 2.02%), JSW Steel(up 1.75%), Tata Motors(up 1.63%), Power Grid Corporation of India(up 1.5%), Bajaj Finserv(up 1.42%) and Bajaj Finance(up 1.3%) were among the top gainers in the Nifty pack.

On the other hand, Bharat Petroleum Corporation(down 1.49%), Maruti Suzuki(down 1.12%), Bharti Airtel(down 0.76%), Coal India(down 0.65%), Hero MotoCorp(down 0.65%), Asian Paints(down 0.57%), Dr Reddys Laboratories(down 0.51%), Hindustan Unilever(down 0.49%), Shree Cement(down 0.46%) and ITC(down 0.39%) were trading in the red.
