
NEW DELHI: The Nifty Bank index traded positive around 11:15AM(IST)on Thursday in an upbeat market.
Kotak Mahindra Bank(up 2.34 per cent), HDFC Bank(up 1.96 per cent), Axis Bank(up 1.37 per cent), State Bank of India(up 1.21 per cent) and RBLBANK(up 0.79 per cent) were among the top gainers.
Punjab National Bank(down 0.48 per cent) were the top losers on the index.
The Nifty Bank index was up 1.22 per cent at 39080.85 at the time of writing this report.
Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was up 118.3 points at 17582.1, while the BSE Sensex was up 401.62 points at 58867.59.
Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 31 were trading in the green, while 18 were in the red.
Shares of Vodafone Idea, Adani Wilmar Ltd., SAIL, Tata Power and YES Bank were among the most traded shares on the NSE.
Shares of Adani Wilmar Ltd., Consolidated Fin, Birla Cable, Hindustan Comp and Poddar Housing hit their fresh 52-week highs in today's trade, while Solara Active Pharma, GE Power India, SS Infrastructure, Crown Lifters and Timescan Logistics(India)Ltd. hit fresh 52-week lows in trade.
