Stock market update: Mining stocks up as market rises

NEW DELHI: Mining stocks were trading higher on Thursday at 11:00AM

Gujarat Mineral Dvpt Corporation(up 4.31%), Ashapura Minechem(up 2.61%), Pokarna(up 2.27%), NMDC Ltd(up 1.99%), Madhav Marbles and Granites(up 1.23%), MOIL(up 0.53%), KIOCL(up 0.44%) and Aro Granite Industries(up 0.08%) were among the top gainers.

Lexus Granito(down 4.88%), 20 Microns(down 1.11%), Orissa Minerals Development Company(down 0.85%) and Coal India(down 0.65%) were among the top losers.

The NSE Nifty50 index was trading 112.6 points up at 17576.4, while the 30-share BSE Sensex was up 382.33 points at 58848.3 at around 11:00AM.

Oil & Natural Gas Corporation(up 2.9%), Kotak Mahindra Bank(up 2.18%), HDFC(up 2.16%), Tata Steel(up 1.96%), HDFC Bank(up 1.82%), JSW Steel(up 1.77%), Bajaj Finance(up 1.55%), Tata Motors(up 1.5%), Power Grid Corporation of India(up 1.43%) and Bajaj Finserv(up 1.31%) were among the top gainers in the Nifty pack.

On the other hand, Bharat Petroleum Corporation(down 1.49%), Maruti Suzuki(down 1.16%), Bharti Airtel(down 0.7%), Coal India(down 0.65%), Hero MotoCorp(down 0.65%), Asian Paints(down 0.62%), Hindustan Unilever(down 0.56%), Shree Cement(down 0.48%), Dr Reddys Laboratories(down 0.44%) and Britannia Industries(down 0.39%) were trading in the red.
