Share market update: Most active stocks on D-Street today in terms of volume

NEW DELHI: Vodafone Idea(number of shares traded: 7.52 crore), MPS Infotecnics (number of shares traded: 6.24 crore), Adani Wilmar Ltd.(number of shares traded: 4.86 crore), YES Bank(number of shares traded: 3.60 crore), Suzlon Energy(number of shares traded: 2.67 crore), Bank of Baroda(number of shares traded: 2.35 crore), NALCO(number of shares traded: 2.24 crore), JP Power(number of shares traded: 1.75 crore), Reliance Power(number of shares traded: 1.66 crore) and GTL Infra(number of shares traded: 1.58 crore) were among the most traded securities on the National Stock Exchange at 10:29AM in Wednesday's session.

The NSE Nifty index was trading 123.1 points up at 17389.85, while BSE Sensex was up 417.08 points at 58225.66 at the time of writing this report.

In the Nifty index, Coal India Ltd.(up 4.69 per cent), Hindalco Industries Ltd.(up 2.15 per cent), HCL Technologies Ltd.(up 1.97 per cent), Maruti Suzuki India Ltd.(up 1.94 per cent) and Bajaj Auto Ltd.(up 1.89 per cent) were among the top gainers.

While Indian Oil Corporation Ltd.(down 0.87 per cent), SBI Life Insurance Company Ltd.(down 0.73 per cent), Sun Pharmaceutical Industries Ltd.(down 0.62 per cent), Power Grid Corporation of India Ltd.(down 0.55 per cent) and State Bank of India(down 0.54 per cent) were among the top losers in the index.
