ReutersNEW DELHI: The Nifty Pharma index traded positive around 11:15AM(IST)on Wednesday in an upbeat market.
Gland Pharma(up 2.46 per cent), Glenmark Pharmaceuticals(up 1.51 per cent), Cipla(up 1.41 per cent), Natco Pharma(up 1.24 per cent) and Divis Laboratories(up 0.99 per cent) were among the top gainers.
Laurus(down 0.86 per cent), Sun Pharmaceutical Industries(down 0.68 per cent), Pfizer(down 0.23 per cent), Torrent Pharmaceuticals(down 0.17 per cent) and Strides Pharma Science(down 0.1 per cent) were the top losers on the index.
The Nifty Pharma index was up 0.43 per cent at 13502.9 at the time of writing this report.
Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was up 123.5 points at 17390.25, while the BSE Sensex was up 397.98 points at 58206.56.
Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 39 were trading in the green, while 9 were in the red.
Shares of Vodafone Idea, Adani Wilmar Ltd., YES Bank, Suzlon Energy and Bank of Baroda were among the most traded shares on the NSE.
Shares of Adani Wilmar Ltd., Ajooni Biotech Ltd., Keynote Financial, Poddar Housing and TV18 Broadcast hit their fresh 52-week highs in today's trade, while Timescan Logistics(India)Ltd., Take Solutions, Orchid Pharma, Precision Metaliks Ltd. and Uniinfo Telecom Serv hit fresh 52-week lows in trade.
