Stock market update: FMCG stocks down as market falls

NEW DELHI: FMCG stocks were trading lower on Tuesday at 11:25AM

Umang Dairies(up 1.97%), Nakoda Group(up 1.33%), P & G Hygiene(up 1.26%), Euro India Fresh Foods(up 0.77%), Bajaj Consumer(up 0.51%), Dodla Dairy(up 0.46%), Varun Beverages(up 0.43%), Gillette India(up 0.40%), Emami(up 0.22%) and Britannia Industries(up 0.12%) were among the top gainers.

Heritage Foods(down 2.66%), JHS Svendgaard Laboratories(down 2.66%), Hind.Foods(down 1.95%), ADF Foods(down 1.72%), Vadilal Industries(down 1.56%), Parag Milk(down 1.22%), TATA CONSUMER PRODUCTS(down 1.22%), Godrej Consumer Products(down 1.01%), Jyothy Labs(down 0.93%) and Mrs Bectors Food Specialities(down 0.91%) were among the top losers.

The NSE Nifty50 index was trading 121.85 points down at 17091.75, while the 30-share BSE Sensex was down 410.14 points at 57211.05 at around 11:25AM.

Cipla(up 1.1%), Divis Laboratories(up 1.05%), Bajaj Finserv(up 1.05%), Bajaj Finance(up 0.86%), Asian Paints(up 0.78%), Hero MotoCorp(up 0.68%), Titan Company Ltd(up 0.65%), Eicher Motors(up 0.65%), Maruti Suzuki(up 0.3%) and Wipro(up 0.22%) were among the top gainers in the Nifty pack.

On the other hand, Tata Motors(down 1.94%), State Bank of India(down 1.86%), IndusInd Bank(down 1.74%), Power Grid Corporation of India(down 1.73%), Larsen & Toubro(down 1.72%), Kotak Mahindra Bank(down 1.64%), Oil & Natural Gas Corporation(down 1.6%), NTPC(down 1.52%), Indian Oil Corporation(down 1.46%) and Coal India(down 1.37%) were trading in the red.
