Mindtree(up 0.74 per cent), Wipro(up 0.59 per cent), HCL Technologies(up 0.18 per cent) and Tech Mahindra(up 0.06 per cent) were among the top gainers.
L&T Technology(down 1.41 per cent), Tata Consultancy(down 0.98 per cent), Infosys(down 0.52 per cent), Coforge(down 0.51 per cent) and Larsen & Toubro Infotech(down 0.37 per cent) were the top losers on the index.
The Nifty IT index was down 0.4 per cent at 34481.95 at the time of writing this report.
Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was down 13.9 points at 17199.7, while the BSE Sensex was down 33.93 points at 57587.26.
Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 26 were trading in the green, while 23 were in the red.
Shares of YES Bank, Adani Wilmar Ltd., Vodafone Idea, Reliance Power and Suzlon Energy were among the most traded shares on the NSE.
Shares of Mahalaxmi Rub, Madhya Bharat Agro, TCPL Packaging, Advani Hotels and Spectrum Electrical hit their fresh 52-week highs in today's trade, while Precision Metaliks Ltd., Uniinfo Telecom Serv, Vera Synthetic, Lupin and Orchid Pharma hit fresh 52-week lows in trade.
