Stock market update: Nifty Pharma index advances 0.1% in a weak market

NEW DELHI: The Nifty Pharma index traded positive around 10:39AM(IST)on Tuesday in a weak market.

Biocon(up 2.2 per cent), Cipla(up 1.24 per cent), Pfizer(up 0.94 per cent), Dr Reddys Laboratories(up 0.88 per cent) and Divis Laboratories(up 0.75 per cent) were among the top gainers.

Gland Pharma(down 2.33 per cent), Laurus(down 1.83 per cent), Lupin(down 1.75 per cent), Glenmark Pharmaceuticals(down 1.07 per cent) and Ipca Laboratories(down 0.95 per cent) were the top losers on the index.

The Nifty Pharma index was up 0.1 per cent at 13395.0 at the time of writing this report.

Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was down 94.45 points at 17119.15, while the BSE Sensex was down 317.62 points at 57303.57.

Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 16 were trading in the green, while 33 were in the red.

Shares of YES Bank, Adani Wilmar Ltd., Vodafone Idea, Reliance Power and Suzlon Energy were among the most traded shares on the NSE.

Shares of Mahalaxmi Rub, Madhya Bharat Agro, TCPL Packaging, Spectrum Electrical and Imagicaaworld Entert hit their fresh 52-week highs in today's trade, while Lasa Supergenerics, Sansera Engineering Ltd., Timescan Logistics(India)Ltd., Precision Metaliks Ltd. and Uniinfo Telecom Serv hit fresh 52-week lows in trade.
