NLC India(up 8.15%), Inox wind(up 5.24%), Jyoti Structures(up 4.85%), Reliance Power(up 4.82%), ADANIGREEN(up 3.81%), Transformers and Rectifiers(India)(up 3.48%), Adani Power(up 2.90%), JSW Energy(up 2.13%), Karma Energy(up 1.98%) and Power Grid Corporation of India(up 1.88%) stood among the top gainers.
Torrent Power(down 9.69%), Energy Development Company(down 5.00%), Indowind Energy(down 4.97%), Hitachi Energy India(down 4.96%), Orient Green Power Company(down 4.88%), Suzlon Energy(down 4.31%), RTNPOWER(down 4.29%), Indo Tech Transformers(down 2.76%), K.P.I. Global Infrastructure(down 2.74%) and Jaiprakash Power Ventures(down 1.67%) were among the top losers of the day.
The NSE Nifty50 index ended 302.7 points down at 17213.6, while the 30-share BSE Sensex closed down 1023.63 points at 57621.19.
Power Grid Corporation of India(up 1.88%), Oil & Natural Gas Corporation(up 1.47%), NTPC(up 0.71%), Tata Steel(up 0.57%), Shree Cement(up 0.57%), State Bank of India(up 0.56%), UltraTech Cement(up 0.4%) and Coal India(up 0.34%) stood among the top gainers in the Nifty pack.
On the other hand, TATA CONSUMER PRODUCTS(down 3.95%), HDFC Bank(down 3.66%), HDFC LIFE INSURANCE(down 3.38%), Larsen & Toubro(down 3.26%), Bajaj Finance(down 3.18%), Britannia Industries(down 3.18%), Bajaj Finserv(down 3.05%), HDFC(down 3.0%), Kotak Mahindra Bank(down 2.96%) and Hero MotoCorp(down 2.71%) closed in the red.
