Stock market update: FMCG stocks down as market falls

NEW DELHI: FMCG stocks were trading lower on Monday at 10:55AM

Hatsun Agro Product Ltd(up 6.39%), Nakoda Group(up 2.75%), Euro India Fresh Foods(up 2.10%), Marico(up 1.18%), Gillette India(up 1.14%), JHS Svendgaard Laboratories(up 1.08%), Parag Milk(up 0.90%), Dangee Dums(up 0.46%), P & G Hygiene(up 0.33%) and Bajaj Consumer(up 0.28%) were among the top gainers.

Prataap Snacks(down 4.98%), Umang Dairies(down 3.52%), Godrej Consumer Products(down 2.39%), TATA CONSUMER PRODUCTS(down 2.15%), DFM Foods(down 1.83%), Britannia Industries(down 1.63%), Varun Beverages(down 1.48%), Zydus Wellness(down 0.97%), Emami(down 0.96%) and Colgate Palmolive(India)(down 0.91%) were among the top losers.

The NSE Nifty50 index was trading 114.9 points down at 17401.4, while the 30-share BSE Sensex was down 368.47 points at 58276.35 at around 10:55AM.

State Bank of India(up 3.35%), Tata Steel(up 2.73%), Power Grid Corporation of India(up 1.26%), Coal India(up 1.06%), NTPC(up 0.89%), Hindalco Industries(up 0.76%), Oil & Natural Gas Corporation(up 0.71%), JSW Steel(up 0.65%), Tech Mahindra(up 0.57%) and Tata Consultancy(up 0.35%) were among the top gainers in the Nifty pack.

On the other hand, Hero MotoCorp(down 3.15%), Larsen & Toubro(down 2.29%), Eicher Motors(down 2.19%), TATA CONSUMER PRODUCTS(down 2.16%), Bajaj Finance(down 2.14%), Bajaj Auto(down 1.84%), Britannia Industries(down 1.64%), SBI Life(down 1.61%), HDFC LIFE INSURANCE(down 1.61%) and HDFC Bank(down 1.59%) were trading in the red.
