Pokarna(down 3.80%), Oriental Trimex(down 2.75%), 20 Microns(down 2.70%), KIOCL(down 1.36%), Madhav Marbles and Granites(down 0.63%), Coal India(down 0.56%) and NMDC Ltd(down 0.36%) were among the top losers of the day.
The NSE Nifty50 index ended 43.9 points down at 17516.3, while the 30-share BSE Sensex closed down 143.2 points at 58644.82.
Hindalco Industries(up 2.44%), Oil & Natural Gas Corporation(up 1.25%), Sun Pharmaceutical Industries(up 1.18%), Asian Paints(up 1.05%), Divis Laboratories(up 0.99%), UltraTech Cement(up 0.87%), Tata Steel(up 0.83%), Larsen & Toubro(up 0.74%), Bajaj Finance(up 0.67%) and JSW Steel(up 0.64%) stood among the top gainers in the Nifty pack.
On the other hand, Hero MotoCorp(down 2.15%), State Bank of India(down 1.81%), NTPC(down 1.79%), Mahindra & Mahindra(down 1.69%), HDFC LIFE INSURANCE(down 1.58%), Bajaj Auto(down 1.54%), Eicher Motors(down 1.48%), Kotak Mahindra Bank(down 1.3%), Wipro(down 1.12%) and SBI Life(down 1.11%) closed in the red.
