Stock market update: FMCG stocks down as market falls

NEW DELHI: FMCG stocks were trading lower on Friday at 11:05AM

Emami(up 1.65%), P & G Hygiene(up 1.25%), Vadilal Industries(up 1.23%), Tasty Bite Eatables(up 0.76%), JHS Svendgaard Laboratories(up 0.73%), Dabur India(up 0.62%), Hatsun Agro Product Ltd(up 0.31%), Euro India Fresh Foods(up 0.30%), Heritage Foods(up 0.29%) and Mrs Bectors Food Specialities(up 0.20%) were among the top gainers.

Nakoda Group(down 2.23%), Future Consumer(down 1.36%), Varun Beverages(down 1.13%), TATA CONSUMER PRODUCTS(down 1.08%), DFM Foods(down 0.98%), Hind.Foods(down 0.94%), Jyothy Labs(down 0.84%), Colgate Palmolive(India)(down 0.66%), Gillette India(down 0.60%) and Hindustan Unilever(down 0.55%) were among the top losers.

The NSE Nifty50 index was trading 15.3 points down at 17544.9, while the 30-share BSE Sensex was down 65.17 points at 58722.85 at around 11:05AM.

Divis Laboratories(up 2.19%), Hindalco Industries(up 1.92%), Tata Steel(up 1.67%), JSW Steel(up 1.54%), Grasim Industries(up 1.5%), Shree Cement(up 1.47%), Oil & Natural Gas Corporation(up 1.43%), UltraTech Cement(up 1.19%), HDFC Bank(up 0.8%) and Sun Pharmaceutical Industries(up 0.5%) were among the top gainers in the Nifty pack.

On the other hand, Hero MotoCorp(down 2.1%), Eicher Motors(down 1.47%), Bajaj Auto(down 1.45%), TATA CONSUMER PRODUCTS(down 1.04%), Mahindra & Mahindra(down 0.96%), Cipla(down 0.92%), HDFC LIFE INSURANCE(down 0.77%), Maruti Suzuki(down 0.71%), Reliance Industries(down 0.71%) and SBI Life(down 0.61%) were trading in the red.
