The Delhi Disaster Management Authority (DDMA) on Friday announced the reopening of schools and colleges in the city on account of a drop in Covid-19 cases.
Schools will reopen in a phased manner for class 9th-12th students from February 7 and for classes nursery to 8th from February 14. Unvaccinated teachers will not be allowed on school premises.
The DDMA also relaxed the timings of the night curfew with the curfew now kicking in from 11 PM instead of 10 PM.
Rolling back a controversial mandate, the DDMA has now also exempted single drivers in cars from the mask mandate.
Coaching institutes and gyms have also been granted permission to open up with certain restrictions.
Private offices can now function with 100 per cent attendance.
The Ministry of Education on Thursday had issued revised guidelines for reopening of schools, allowing states to take the final call based on their overall Covid situation.
