Oberoi Realty(up 2.22 per cent), Indiabulls Real Estate(up 0.93 per cent) and DLF(up 0.12 per cent) were among the top gainers.
Godrej Properties(down 6.24 per cent), Prestige Estates Projects(down 1.26 per cent), Macrotech Developers(down 1.18 per cent), Phoenix Mills(down 0.83 per cent) and Brigade Enterprises(down 0.24 per cent) were the top losers on the index.
The Nifty Realty index was down 1.15 per cent at 481.3 at the time of writing this report.
Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was down 20.15 points at 17540.05, while the BSE Sensex was down 91.15 points at 58696.87.
Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 19 were trading in the green, while 31 were in the red.
Shares of Vodafone Idea, YES Bank, ITC, Reliance Power and Tata Power were among the most traded shares on the NSE.
Shares of Ambika Cotton, Bombay Super Hybrid, Kuantum Papers, Nahar Capital and Trans & Rectif hit their fresh 52-week highs in today's trade, while Precision Metaliks Ltd., Dynamic Services & Security Ltd., Uniinfo Telecom Serv, McDowell Hold and Shanti Overseas(Ind hit fresh 52-week lows in trade.
