MS Dhoni fans are in for a treat! First look of graphic novel 'Atharva', featuring Captain Cool, is here

Weekend started early for Mahendra Singh Dhoni fans after the first look of the much-anticipated new-age graphic novel, 'Atharva - The Origin', launched on Wednesday evening.

The former cricketer took to Facebook to share his first look as Atharva in the mythological web series in a one-minute-five-second-long video. "Happy to announce my new Avatar… Atharva," he wrote.

Created by Virzu Studios in association with MIDAS Deals, Dhoni is seen in a never-seen-before avatar on the battlefield.

The makers of 'Atharva' said that it is created by using vivid illustrations and world-class technology. "The series is the result of years of hard work to create a story that transcends time."

"This is not just another fantasy graphic novel," the note said.


Good wishes and congratulatory messages poured in for author Ramesh Thamilmani.

Producer Soundarya Rajnikanth, who is currently recovering from Covid, wished her good friend luck.


South stars Mahat Raghavendra and Vaibhav also congratulated the author.



Producer SR Prabhu also sent his best wishes to the 'Atharva' team.


Since the launch of the first look, fans haven't been able to keep calm. The YouTube video is nearing 1,00,000 views in less than 24 hours.


Fans loved Dhoni's 'cool' and 'calm' look even on the battlefield. There's a reason why he's called Captain Cool.


Many fans were confused if it was a movie, series, book or a game. To reiterate, it is a mythological web-series that features Dhoni's avatar as the lead character.

The makers said that the official launch date will be announced soon. While fans a keen on making this a blockbuster, it has to be seen how it turns out.
