NEW DELHI: Mining shares closed higher in the Wednesday's session.

KIOCL(up 5.14%), Lexus Granito(up 4.86%), Madhav Marbles and Granites(up 3.67%), NMDC Ltd(up 3.44%), Gujarat Mineral Dvpt Corporation(up 2.85%), MOIL(up 0.55%), Coal India(up 0.49%) and Pokarna(up 0.18%) stood among the top gainers.

Oriental Trimex(down 1.93%), Aro Granite Industries(down 1.86%), Ashapura Minechem(down 1.85%), 20 Microns(down 1.14%) and Orissa Minerals Development Company(down 0.46%) were among the top losers of the day.

The NSE Nifty50 index ended 203.15 points up at 17780.0, while the 30-share BSE Sensex closed up 695.76 points at 59558.33.

IndusInd Bank(up 5.75%), Bajaj Finserv(up 5.04%), HCL Technologies(up 3.37%), Bajaj Finance(up 3.32%), HDFC LIFE INSURANCE(up 3.25%), Kotak Mahindra Bank(up 3.2%), Axis Bank(up 2.84%), Divis Laboratories(up 2.71%), Dr Reddys Laboratories(up 2.46%) and HDFC Bank(up 2.28%) stood among the top gainers in the Nifty pack.

On the other hand, Tech Mahindra(down 1.51%), UltraTech Cement(down 1.0%), Britannia Industries(down 0.97%), Nestle India(down 0.92%), Hero MotoCorp(down 0.89%), Shree Cement(down 0.88%), Maruti Suzuki(down 0.52%), Larsen & Toubro(down 0.39%), Sun Pharmaceutical Industries(down 0.12%) and Mahindra & Mahindra(down 0.04%) closed in the red.
