Stock market update: FMCG stocks up as market rises

NEW DELHI: FMCG stocks were trading higher on Wednesday at 10:45AM

Euro India Fresh Foods(up 4.99%), JHS Svendgaard Laboratories(up 2.57%), Parag Milk(up 1.87%), Vadilal Industries(up 1.53%), Marico(up 1.38%), Bajaj Consumer(up 1.36%), Varun Beverages(up 1.33%), Tasty Bite Eatables(up 0.94%), Dabur India(up 0.87%) and Colgate Palmolive(India)(up 0.86%) were among the top gainers.

Hatsun Agro Product Ltd(down 1.95%), Nakoda Group(down 1.64%), Dangee Dums(down 1.26%), Britannia Industries(down 0.73%), Hindustan Unilever(down 0.34%), Umang Dairies(down 0.19%), Emami(down 0.16%) and Godrej Consumer Products(down 0.11%) were among the top losers.

The NSE Nifty50 index was trading 121.0 points up at 17697.85, while the 30-share BSE Sensex was up 381.9 points at 59244.47 at around 10:45AM.

Bajaj Finserv(up 4.25%), IndusInd Bank(up 3.67%), Bajaj Finance(up 3.15%), Kotak Mahindra Bank(up 2.69%), Axis Bank(up 2.46%), Eicher Motors(up 2.02%), HDFC LIFE INSURANCE(up 1.93%), HCL Technologies(up 1.69%), HDFC Bank(up 1.6%) and Wipro(up 1.33%) were among the top gainers in the Nifty pack.

On the other hand, Tech Mahindra(down 3.63%), Adani Ports & Special Economic Zone(down 0.83%), Britannia Industries(down 0.77%), UltraTech Cement(down 0.75%), Sun Pharmaceutical Industries(down 0.64%), Hindustan Unilever(down 0.38%), Larsen & Toubro(down 0.36%), Maruti Suzuki(down 0.36%), Shree Cement(down 0.36%) and Hindalco Industries(down 0.28%) were trading in the red.
