Stock market update: Sugar stocks up as market rises

NEW DELHI: Sugar stocks were trading higher on Wednesday at 10:50AM

DCM Shriram Industries(up 3.26%), Dwarikesh Sugar Industries(up 2.61%), Ponni Sugars(Erode)(up 2.47%), Kothari Sugars & Chemicals(up 1.89%), MAGADHSUGAR(up 1.76%), K.M.Sugar Mills(up 1.60%), Ugar Sugar Works(up 1.37%), Uttam Sugar Mills(up 1.20%), AVADHSUGAR(up 1.15%) and BAJAJHIND(up 0.93%) were among the top gainers.

Vishwaraj Sugar Industries(down 2.48%), Sakthi Sugars(down 2.17%), Dharani Sugars & Chemicals(down 0.74%), Dhampur Sugar Mills(down 0.71%), EID Parry(down 0.39%), Rajshree Sugars & Chemicals(down 0.33%) and Balrampur Chini Mills(down 0.29%) were among the top losers.

The NSE Nifty50 index was trading 128.7 points up at 17705.55, while the 30-share BSE Sensex was up 439.04 points at 59301.61 at around 10:50AM.

Bajaj Finserv(up 4.34%), IndusInd Bank(up 3.72%), Bajaj Finance(up 3.07%), Kotak Mahindra Bank(up 2.71%), Axis Bank(up 2.43%), HCL Technologies(up 2.36%), HDFC LIFE INSURANCE(up 2.09%), Eicher Motors(up 1.82%), HDFC Bank(up 1.58%) and Titan Company Ltd(up 1.54%) were among the top gainers in the Nifty pack.

On the other hand, Tech Mahindra(down 3.36%), UltraTech Cement(down 1.03%), Adani Ports & Special Economic Zone(down 0.97%), Larsen & Toubro(down 0.71%), Sun Pharmaceutical Industries(down 0.66%), Britannia Industries(down 0.53%), Tata Steel(down 0.44%), Hindalco Industries(down 0.44%), Maruti Suzuki(down 0.4%) and Hindustan Unilever(down 0.32%) were trading in the red.
