GAIL shares drop 0.98% as Sensex rises

Shares of the GAIL (India) Ltd. traded at Rs 145.9 on BSE at 01:59PM (IST) on Wednesday, down 0.98 per cent. The stock quoted a 52-week low price of Rs 125.2 and a high of Rs 171.35.

Earlier in the day, the stock saw a gap up opening.

At the prevailing price, the stock traded at 6.9 times its trailing 12-month EPS of Rs 21.15 per share and 1.13 times its book value, as per BSE data.

A total of 276,269 shares changed hands on the counter till 01:59PM (IST). The stock commands a market value of Rs 64785.22 crore and is part of the Gas Distribution industry.

The scrip has been an underperformer , up 12.4 per cent in the past one year in comparison with a 22.97 per cent gain in Sensex.

During the day, the stock moved between Rs 149.0 and Rs 145.4.

Promoter/FII Holding
Promoters held 51.45 per cent in the company as of 31-Dec-2021. FII and MF ownership in GAIL (India) Ltd. stood at 19.56 per cent and 7.87 per cent, respectively.
