Three construction workers were kidnapped by the NSCN (K-YA) militant from Arunachal Pradesh.
The militants are believed to have taken these workers to neighbouring Nagaland. A senior police officer who does not want to be named told ET, “One of those abducted was released later however two others remained in the hideout of NSCN (K-YA).”
The outfit is in a ceasefire with the government. Police officials said that Bangphua Wangpan, Ramasish Mahato and Hiren Konch, were engaged in the construction of the Pumao-Langkhow road in Longding district and were staying at a camp near the construction site from where the militants kidnapped them late on Tuesday evening.
