Getty ImagesNEW DELHI: The Nifty Bank index traded positive around 10:50AM(IST)on Tuesday in an upbeat market.
IndusInd Bank(up 3.2 per cent), ICICI Bank(up 2.53 per cent), Axis Bank(up 2.15 per cent), HDFC Bank(up 1.72 per cent) and AU Small Finance Bank(up 1.71 per cent) were among the top gainers.
Federal Bank(down 0.2 per cent) and State Bank of India(down 0.15 per cent) were the top losers on the index.
The Nifty Bank index was up 1.71 per cent at 38626.15 at the time of writing this report.
Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was up 208.15 points at 17548.0, while the BSE Sensex was up 752.7 points at 58766.87.
Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 41 were trading in the green, while 9 were in the red.
Shares of Suzlon Energy, Vodafone Idea, JP Power, Tata Motors and Tata Power were among the most traded shares on the NSE.
Shares of Precision Metaliks Ltd., Jainam Ferro Alloys(I)Ltd., Chemfab Alkalis, Osia Hyper Retail and Gravita India hit their fresh 52-week highs in today's trade, while Timescan Logistics(India)Ltd., Hind Nat Glass, Dynamic Services & Security Ltd., Walpar Nutritions Ltd. and Vaibhav Global hit fresh 52-week lows in trade.
