ReutersNEW DELHI: The Nifty Realty index closed on a positive note on Tuesday.
Shares of Oberoi Realty(up 5.78 per cent), DLF(up 3.56 per cent), Indiabulls Real Estate(up 1.56 per cent), Brigade Enterprises(up 0.39 per cent) and Godrej Properties(up 0.37 per cent) ended the day as top gainers in the pack.
On the other hand, Prestige Estates Projects(down 0.82 per cent) finished as the top losers of the day.
The Nifty Realty index closed 1.75 per cent up at 488.65.
Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index ended up 237.0 points at 17576.85, while the BSE Sensex stood up 848.4 points at 58862.57.
Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 36 ended in the green, while 14 closed in the red.
Shares of Vodafone Idea, Suzlon Energy, YES Bank, JP Power and Bank of Baroda were among the most traded shares on the NSE.
Shares of Precision Metaliks Ltd., Jainam Ferro Alloys(I)Ltd., Bharat Road Net, Ganesha Ecosp and Chemfab Alkalis hit their fresh 52-week highs in today's trade, while Timescan Logistics(India)Ltd., Hind Nat Glass, Dynamic Services & Security Ltd., Vaibhav Global and Atal Realtech hit their fresh 52-week lows.
