Stock market update: Sugar stocks up as market rises

NEW DELHI: Sugar stocks were trading higher on Tuesday at 10:24AM

DCM Shriram Industries(up 3.83%), KCP Sugar & Industries(up 2.52%), Rajshree Sugars & Chemicals(up 2.05%), Uttam Sugar Mills(up 1.55%), Dharani Sugars & Chemicals(up 1.46%), Kothari Sugars & Chemicals(up 1.31%), Balrampur Chini Mills(up 1.28%), Shree Renuka Sugars(up 0.92%), Dwarikesh Sugar Industries(up 0.90%) and Bannari Amman Sugars(up 0.83%) were among the top gainers.

Sakthi Sugars(down 0.91%), EID Parry(down 0.84%), BAJAJHIND(down 0.60%), AVADHSUGAR(down 0.41%) and Mawana Sugars(down 0.36%) were among the top losers.

The NSE Nifty50 index was trading 244.15 points up at 17584.0, while the 30-share BSE Sensex was up 871.37 points at 58885.54 at around 10:24AM.

Britannia Industries(up 4.15%), Sun Pharmaceutical Industries(up 4.11%), IndusInd Bank(up 3.02%), ICICI Bank(up 2.73%), HDFC LIFE INSURANCE(up 2.49%), Axis Bank(up 2.4%), Larsen & Toubro(up 2.32%), Tata Steel(up 2.29%), Kotak Mahindra Bank(up 2.29%) and Hindalco Industries(up 2.25%) were among the top gainers in the Nifty pack.

On the other hand, Indian Oil Corporation(down 2.48%), Bharat Petroleum Corporation(down 1.98%), Tata Motors(down 1.17%), Oil & Natural Gas Corporation(down 0.93%), Dr Reddys Laboratories(down 0.47%), Bajaj Auto(down 0.41%), Bharti Airtel(down 0.11%) and ITC(down 0.02%) were trading in the red.
