Share market update: Most active stocks on D-Street today in terms of volume

NEW DELHI: Suzlon Energy(number of shares traded: 3.52 crore), Sun Tech Over(number of shares traded: 3.37 crore), Vodafone Idea(number of shares traded: 1.30 crore), Virtual Global(number of shares traded: 0.72 crore), GTL Infra(number of shares traded: 0.70 crore), Syncom Form(number of shares traded: 0.59 crore), Jaypee Infra(number of shares traded: 0.45 crore), Shalimar Prod(number of shares traded: 0.42 crore), JP Power(number of shares traded: 0.42 crore) and Sword-ECommer(number of shares traded: 0.28 crore) were among the most traded securities on the National Stock Exchange at 10:09AM in Tuesday's session.

The NSE Nifty index was trading 234.5 points up at 17574.35, while BSE Sensex was up 826.93 points at 58841.1 at the time of writing this report.

In the Nifty index, Britannia Industries Ltd.(up 4.07 per cent), Sun Pharmaceutical Industries Ltd.(up 3.56 per cent), IndusInd Bank Ltd.(up 3.06 per cent), ICICI Bank Ltd.(up 2.80 per cent) and HDFC Life Insurance Company Ltd.(up 2.33 per cent) were among the top gainers.

While Indian Oil Corporation Ltd.(down 2.40 per cent), Bharat Petroleum Corporation Ltd.(down 2.30 per cent), Oil And Natural Gas Corporation Ltd.(down 0.93 per cent), Tata Motors Ltd.(down 0.72 per cent) and Bajaj Auto Ltd.(down 0.45 per cent) were among the top losers in the index.
