Stock market update: Power stocks up as market rises

NEW DELHI: Power stocks were trading higher on Tuesday at 11:25AM

Karma Energy(up 4.98%), Jyoti Structures(up 4.92%), ADANIGREEN(up 4.21%), Suzlon Energy(up 3.35%), Tata Power Company(up 3.21%), Adani Power(up 3.11%), Gujarat Industries Power(up 2.63%), Adani Transmissions(up 2.39%), Hitachi Energy India(up 2.22%) and Reliance Power(up 1.69%) were among the top gainers.

Orient Green Power Company(down 4.94%), Indowind Energy(down 4.85%), Energy Development Company(down 4.04%), RTNPOWER(down 2.11%), Voltamp Transformers(down 1.58%), K.P.I. Global Infrastructure(down 1.31%), DPSC(down 1.20%), JSW Energy(down 0.54%) and NLC India(down 0.30%) were among the top losers.

The NSE Nifty50 index was trading 236.25 points up at 17576.1, while the 30-share BSE Sensex was up 861.95 points at 58876.12 at around 11:25AM.

Sun Pharmaceutical Industries(up 5.45%), Britannia Industries(up 3.89%), IndusInd Bank(up 3.7%), ICICI Bank(up 2.8%), Tata Steel(up 2.56%), HDFC(up 2.22%), HDFC LIFE INSURANCE(up 2.22%), Axis Bank(up 2.19%), Adani Ports & Special Economic Zone(up 2.08%) and Larsen & Toubro(up 1.98%) were among the top gainers in the Nifty pack.

On the other hand, Indian Oil Corporation(down 2.6%), Tata Motors(down 1.69%), Oil & Natural Gas Corporation(down 1.39%), Bharat Petroleum Corporation(down 1.2%), State Bank of India(down 0.52%), Bajaj Auto(down 0.44%) and Dr Reddys Laboratories(down 0.28%) were trading in the red.
