Global Infrastructure(up 5.00%), DPSC(up 4.97%), RTNPOWER(up 4.93%), Jyoti Structures(up 4.90%), Energy Development Company(up 4.85%), KEC International(up 4.38%), NTPC(up 3.81%), Hitachi Energy India(up 3.62%), Gujarat Industries Power(up 3.17%) and Reliance Power(up 2.70%) stood among the top gainers.
Orient Green Power Company(down 4.99%), Indowind Energy(down 4.81%), Indo Tech Transformers(down 4.27%), Karma Energy(down 3.10%), Power Grid Corporation of India(down 2.16%), Jaiprakash Power Ventures(down 1.62%), Suzlon Energy(down 1.30%), Kalpataru Power Transmission(down 1.15%), Adani Transmissions(down 1.12%) and JSW Energy(down 1.10%) were among the top losers of the day.
The NSE Nifty50 index ended 8.2 points down at 17101.95, while the 30-share BSE Sensex closed down 76.71 points at 57200.23.
NTPC(up 3.81%), UPL Ltd(up 2.37%), Sun Pharmaceutical Industries(up 1.88%), Oil & Natural Gas Corporation(up 1.87%), IndusInd Bank(up 1.74%), TATA CONSUMER PRODUCTS(up 1.69%), ITC(up 1.4%), Wipro(up 1.36%), Mahindra & Mahindra(up 1.35%) and Bharti Airtel(up 1.21%) stood among the top gainers in the Nifty pack.
On the other hand, Maruti Suzuki(down 3.05%), Tech Mahindra(down 2.42%), Power Grid Corporation of India(down 2.16%), ICICI Bank(down 1.7%), Hero MotoCorp(down 1.58%), Eicher Motors(down 1.24%), Axis Bank(down 1.18%), Bajaj Finserv(down 1.05%), State Bank of India(down 1.04%) and Dr Reddys Laboratories(down 0.89%) closed in the red.
