MAGADHSUGAR(up 5.93%), Triveni Engineering & Industries(up 5.23%), Rana Sugars(up 5.19%), Ugar Sugar Works(up 5.15%), Dwarikesh Sugar Industries(up 4.59%), Balrampur Chini Mills(up 3.63%), Kothari Sugars & Chemicals(up 3.31%), AVADHSUGAR(up 3.08%), KCP Sugar & Industries(up 2.64%) and K.M.Sugar Mills(up 2.42%) stood among the top gainers.
Simbhaoli Sugars(down 4.57%), Rajshree Sugars & Chemicals(down 2.65%), Ponni Sugars(Erode)(down 1.72%), EID Parry(down 1.16%), BAJAJHIND(down 0.96%) and Dharani Sugars & Chemicals(down 0.76%) were among the top losers of the day.
The NSE Nifty50 index ended 128.85 points up at 17277.95, while the 30-share BSE Sensex closed up 366.64 points at 57858.15.
Maruti Suzuki(up 6.83%), Axis Bank(up 6.76%), State Bank of India(up 4.15%), IndusInd Bank(up 3.88%), UPL Ltd(up 3.74%), Bharti Airtel(up 3.18%), Coal India(up 3.1%), Hero MotoCorp(up 2.8%), Bajaj Auto(up 2.57%) and Bharat Petroleum Corporation(up 2.53%) stood among the top gainers in the Nifty pack.
On the other hand, Wipro(down 1.75%), Bajaj Finserv(down 1.13%), Titan Company Ltd(down 1.1%), Infosys(down 0.84%), Tech Mahindra(down 0.83%), UltraTech Cement(down 0.81%), HDFC(down 0.36%), Oil & Natural Gas Corporation(down 0.33%), Asian Paints(down 0.26%) and Reliance Industries(down 0.2%) closed in the red.
