Anushka Sharma and her daughter Vamika were seen cheering for their husband-father Virat Kohli during the third ODI of the India-South Africa series on Sunday. However, unknown to the celebrity couple, Vamika's photos were clicked during the match and were shared extensively on social media. Now, Virat Kohli and Anushka Sharma have taken to their Instagram Stories and issued a statement regarding the same.
The statement reads, "Hi guys! We realise that our daughter's images were captured at the stadium yesterday and widely shared thereafter. We want to inform everyone that we were caught off guard and didn't know that the camera was on us. Our stance and request on the matter stays the same. We would really appreciate if Vamika's images are not clicked/published for reasons we have explained earlier. Thank you!"
In December 2021, on behalf of both Virat and Anushka, the actress had written a special note for the paparazzi to not publish Vamika's picture. Seeking privacy for their child, the 'Zero' actress had also thanked the fan clubs for not sharing their daughter's photographs.
The note read, "We are deeply thankful to the Indian paparazzi and most of the media fraternity for not publishing pictures/videos of Vamika. As parents, our request to the few who carried the images/video will be to support us going forward. We seek privacy for our child and would like to do our best to give her a chance to live her life freely away from media and social media. As she is older, we cannot restrict her movement and hence your support is needed so kindly practice restraint in the matter. A special thank you to fan clubs and people of the internet for going out of your way to not post images. It was kind and highly mature of you.”
The mother-daughter duo had accompanied the Indian cricketer on the entire tour to the Rainbow Nation. Virat Kohli and Anushka Sharma tied the knot on 11 December 2017 in a private ceremony in Italy. The couple was blessed with their baby daughter, Vamika on January 11, 2021. Virat and Anushka are highly caring and protective of Anushka and hence, are the perfect parents to their baby daughter.
