
NEW DELHI: The Nifty Bank index closed on a negative note on Friday.
Shares of HDFC Bank(up 0.83 per cent), AU Small Finance Bank(up 0.21 per cent) and Kotak Mahindra Bank(up 0.06 per cent) ended the day as top gainers in the pack.
On the other hand, Federal Bank(down 4.04 per cent), RBLBANK(down 3.1 per cent), Punjab National Bank(down 3.0 per cent), IndusInd Bank(down 2.63 per cent) and Axis Bank(down 2.25 per cent) finished as the top losers of the day.
The Nifty Bank index closed 0.73 per cent down at 37574.3.
Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index ended down 139.85 points at 17617.15, while the BSE Sensex stood down 427.44 points at 59037.18.
Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 15 ended in the green, while 35 closed in the red.
Shares of Vodafone Idea, JP Power, Suzlon Energy, YES Bank and Zomato Ltd. were among the most traded shares on the NSE.
Shares of Worth Peripherals, Linc Pen Plast, Pressman Advertisin, Gokaldas Export and V-Marc India Ltd. hit their fresh 52-week highs in today's trade, while Zomato Ltd., Strides Shasun, Spandana Sphoorty, McDowell Hold and IndiaMART hit their fresh 52-week lows.
