Vivo is developing its first Android tablet, the Vivo Pad. In June of last year, the company registered the trademark "Vivo Pad" with the European Union Intellectual Property Office (EUIPO).
Now after several leaks and rumours, the Executive Vice President of Vivo had confirmed last year that the brand's first tablet is in the works and also revealed that it will get officially launched in the first half of 2022.
Reliable tipster Digital Chat Station has revealed some key features and specifications of the upcoming device.
The new leak reveals that the Vivo tablet will come powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 870 processor. This is the same chipset that is powering the premium Xiaomi Pad 5 Pro model as well as the Lenovo Xiaoxin Pad Pro 2021.
According to the leak, the Vivo tablet will pack a "super large and narrow frame full screen" with a 120Hz refresh rate and pack a battery with a typical capacity of 8000+ mAh and a rated capacity of 7,860 mAh. The tablet will have support for 44W fast charging.
The tablet might run on OriginOS out of the box. More information on the Vivo Pad should become available in the following months when the tablet receives certification from various organisations. It will also have a Terminal interconnection feature that can share screen and content across Vivo devices.
Digital Chan Station also claims that the tablet will be priced in the CNY2,000 (approx. Rs. 23,500) price range in China. The Vivo Pad is expected to become official by the end of June this year.
In other news, last year, OnePlus and Oppo, like Vivo, trademarked the names of their tablet devices. The OnePlus Pad and Oppo Pad's specifications are currently unknown.
Vivo's sub-brand iQOO is also expected to launch a tablet while its sister company OPPO is also set to soon launch its first tablet in the market.
