Share market update: Most active stocks on D-Street today in terms of volume

NEW DELHI: Vodafone Idea(number of shares traded: 9.64 crore), Suzlon Energy(number of shares traded: 6.96 crore), GTL Infra(number of shares traded: 6.42 crore), JP Power(number of shares traded: 4.11 crore), Alok Industries(number of shares traded: 3.94 crore), YES Bank(number of shares traded: 2.75 crore), Vedanta (number of shares traded: 2.57 crore), Reliance Power(number of shares traded: 2.28 crore), TV18 Broadcast(number of shares traded: 2.07 crore) and Inventure Grwth(number of shares traded: 2.03 crore) were among the most traded securities on the National Stock Exchange at 10:09AM in Wednesday's session.

The NSE Nifty index was trading 76.0 points down at 18037.05, while BSE Sensex was down 300.76 points at 60454.1 at the time of writing this report.

In the Nifty index, Oil And Natural Gas Corporation Ltd.(up 2.65 per cent), Bajaj Finance Ltd.(up 2.12 per cent), Coal India Ltd.(up 1.90 per cent), Tata Steel Ltd.(up 1.74 per cent) and UPL Ltd.(up 1.66 per cent) were among the top gainers.

While Infosys Ltd.(down 1.96 per cent), Asian Paints Ltd.(down 1.88 per cent), HCL Technologies Ltd.(down 1.66 per cent), Tata Consumer Products Ltd.(down 1.61 per cent) and Wipro Ltd.(down 1.49 per cent) were among the top losers in the index.
