Stock market update: Fertilisers stocks up as market falls

NEW DELHI: Fertilisers stocks were trading higher on Wednesday at 11:10AM

Khaitan Chemicals & Fertilizers(up 2.88%), Fertilizers & Chemicals Tranvancore(up 2.24%), Sikko Industries(up 2.10%), Gujarat Narmada Valley Fertilizers (up 1.81%), G S F C(up 1.51%), Chambal Fertilisers & Chemicals(up 1.45%), Madras Fertlizers(up 1.11%), Rashtriya Chemicals & Fertilizers(up 0.77%), KRISHANA(up 0.77%) and Mangalore Chemicals & Fertilizers(up 0.13%) were among the top gainers.

Deepak Fertilizers & Petrochemicals(down 4.99%), Agro Phos(down 2.62%), Madhya Bharat Agro Products(down 0.77%), Nagarjuna Fertilizers & Chem(down 0.34%), National Fertilizer(down 0.26%), Aries Agro(down 0.18%), ZUARIAGRO(down 0.16%) and Coromandel International(down 0.15%) were among the top losers.

The NSE Nifty50 index was trading 128.5 points down at 17984.55, while the 30-share BSE Sensex was down 461.0 points at 60293.86 at around 11:10AM.

Oil & Natural Gas Corporation(up 2.53%), Coal India(up 1.46%), UPL Ltd(up 1.21%), Tata Steel(up 1.1%), Bajaj Auto(up 0.94%), Hero MotoCorp(up 0.78%), Indian Oil Corporation(up 0.65%), Dr Reddys Laboratories(up 0.24%), Tata Motors(up 0.22%) and Hindalco Industries(up 0.2%) were among the top gainers in the Nifty pack.

On the other hand, Asian Paints(down 2.59%), UltraTech Cement(down 2.57%), Adani Ports & Special Economic Zone(down 2.3%), TATA CONSUMER PRODUCTS(down 2.04%), Infosys(down 1.89%), Shree Cement(down 1.78%), Wipro(down 1.63%), HDFC LIFE INSURANCE(down 1.55%), Hindustan Unilever(down 1.46%) and HCL Technologies(down 1.44%) were trading in the red.
