Kalpataru Power Transmission(up 5.41%), ADANIGREEN(up 3.53%), Reliance Power(up 2.88%), PTC India(up 2.33%), Karma Energy(up 2.13%), K.P.I. Global Infras(up 1.62%) and Adani Transmissions(up 1.20%) stood among the top gainers.
Adani Power(down 5.43%), Energy Development Company(down 4.99%), Jaiprakash Power Ventures(down 4.98%), Orient Green Power Company(down 4.91%), Transformers and Rectifiers(India)(down 4.90%), Indowind Energy(down 4.87%), DPSC(down 4.75%), Suzlon Energy(down 4.69%), RTNPOWER(down 4.49%) and Jyoti Structures(down 4.06%) were among the top losers of the day.
The NSE Nifty50 index ended 195.05 points down at 18113.05, while the 30-share BSE Sensex closed down 554.05 points at 60754.86.
Axis Bank(up 1.76%), HDFC Bank(up 0.51%), ICICI Bank(up 0.46%), Dr Reddys Laboratories(up 0.45%), Kotak Mahindra Bank(up 0.24%), Nestle India(up 0.24%), Indian Oil Corporation(up 0.16%) and Titan Company Ltd(up 0.12%) stood among the top gainers in the Nifty pack.
On the other hand, TATA CONSUMER PRODUCTS(down 4.4%), Maruti Suzuki(down 4.24%), UltraTech Cement(down 3.99%), Eicher Motors(down 3.8%), Tech Mahindra(down 3.58%), Grasim Industries(down 3.46%), UPL Ltd(down 3.11%), HCL Technologies(down 3.1%), Tata Steel(down 2.84%) and JSW Steel(down 2.75%) closed in the red.
