NEW DELHI: FMCG shares closed lower in the Tuesday's session.

P & G Hygiene(up 0.94%), Prataap Snacks(up 0.44%), Gillette India(up 0.39%), Godrej Consumer Products(up 0.37%), Nestle India(up 0.24%) and Colgate Palmolive(India)(up 0.21%) stood among the top gainers.

Hind.Foods(down 5.81%), JHS Svendgaard Laboratories(down 4.82%), TATA CONSUMER PRODUCTS(down 4.40%), Umang Dairies(down 4.05%), Heritage Foods(down 3.54%), Euro India Fresh Foods(down 3.42%), Parag Milk(down 3.41%), ADF Foods(down 2.64%), Marico(down 2.10%) and Varun Beverages(down 2.04%) were among the top losers of the day.

The NSE Nifty50 index ended 195.05 points down at 18113.05, while the 30-share BSE Sensex closed down 554.05 points at 60754.86.

Axis Bank(up 1.76%), HDFC Bank(up 0.51%), ICICI Bank(up 0.46%), Dr Reddys Laboratories(up 0.45%), Kotak Mahindra Bank(up 0.24%), Nestle India(up 0.24%), Indian Oil Corporation(up 0.16%) and Titan Company Ltd(up 0.12%) stood among the top gainers in the Nifty pack.

On the other hand, TATA CONSUMER PRODUCTS(down 4.4%), Maruti Suzuki(down 4.24%), UltraTech Cement(down 3.99%), Eicher Motors(down 3.8%), Tech Mahindra(down 3.58%), Grasim Industries(down 3.46%), UPL Ltd(down 3.11%), HCL Technologies(down 3.1%), Tata Steel(down 2.84%) and JSW Steel(down 2.75%) closed in the red.
